Waseda Innovation Laboratory (WIN-Lab) was founded in April 2018 with the goals of uncovering multilevel processes and
mechanisms for innovation. While there has been abundant research on innovation at various analytical levels, we know
little about the relationships among those insights. To deepen our understanding of innovation phenomena, research
focusing on mutual influence over the level of analysis is required. Drawing on the multilevel approach, WIN-Lab
advances innovation theories.
WIN-Lab has four projects with different analytical levels: team, firm, inter-firm, and society. In accordance with its unit of analysis, each project quantitively investigates innovation phenomena from interdisciplinary perspectives such as psychology, economics, network science, management engineering as well as management. Not only established firms but also entrepreneurial teams, start-ups, and universities are analyzed. WIN-Lab disseminates research findings to the world.
